South American Turmoil
the US better pay close attention to its proverbial 'backyard' before it's too late
To say that the Biden's administration from hell is implementing a foreign policy for Latin America that is an unmitigated disaster leaves absolutely no one surprised. 'Roubinette' is a train wreck in all aspects, and the foreign policy is a cornerstone of his demented agenda.
But not everything in the 'cone Sur' is the fault of the Biden crime family. There is also some systemic blame to be assigned for this state of affairs. Precious little attention has been paid in the last decades to the South American subcontinent, that became seemingly unimportant in the grand scheme of things post-9/11.
Historically, for the US, the world security understanding was filtered through the axis of the NORTHERN hemisphere - hence the NATO organization, recognizing that the North Atlantic was the pivotal region of this planet, where the industrial and nuclear powers congregated.
What I would like to see done is a 90 degrees turn that also seriously considers the importance of the WESTERN hemisphere.
A complete and comprehensive study of the current geopolitical situation in LATAM is beyond the possibilities of this humble article - but by presenting some data points from a couple of key countries (no, NOT Brazil), we can get a sense of the trouble ahead, for America and the world, as the subcontinent gets dominated by socialists.
Basic survival wisdom suggests we should care a lot about our immediate neighborhood - that goes for people, and goes for countries, too.
FORO DE SÃO PAULO
To understand the South American situation we need first to be introduced to the transnational body that's shaping events in the region. In their whitewashed Wikipedia page:
'The Foro de São Paulo is an organization that brings together political parties and left- wing organizations, created in 1990, from an international seminar promoted by the Workers' Party (PT), from Brazil, which invited other parties and organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean to promote alternatives to the dominant policies in the region during the 1990s […] and to promote Latin American integration in the economic, political and cultural spheres.
According to the organization, currently more than 100 political parties and organizations from different countries participate in the meetings. Political positions vary across a broad spectrum, which includes parties, community organizations, trade unions, social movements, Christian leftists, ethnic groups, and environmentalists.'
If you want to translate to actual meaningful language, they are a constellation of far-left activists, militants, revolutionaries, guerilla fighters and narco-traffickers.
So, while the good guys' diplomacy is slowly made in flawed bi-lateral agreements, the bad guys have a fully functional Komintern working like mad just below your noses.
And when it comes to the South American subcontinent, they are winning just about everywhere.
PERU
Many will remember how, in early December, Peruvian far-leftist president Pedro Castillo attempted a coup-d'état, decreeing the closure of the Congress.
Neither Peru's National Police nor the military backed his plans, and declared their non-compliance with his orders. Peruvian congress acted fast and approved Castillo's impeachment.
And so began a massive season of anti-government protests. Mind you, these are left-wing protesters, meaning you will not find NGO's and media assets condemning their acts, as in Brazil.
Protesters clashed with the security forces in several cities, demanding the resignation of President Dina Boluarte.
Violence became widespread and, with the brutal reaction of the security forces, soon the body count started to rise fast, and now stand at over 65 people dead.
Protesters converged from south Peru 'en masse' on the capital Lima, the activists were mostly made up of indigenous groups and labor union activists.
In comes the “Ponchos Rojos" - the ethnic Aymara militia, tied to former Bolivian President Evo Morales. They are transporting weapons and ammo into Southern Peru from Bolivian territory to arm Castillo supporters. It has morphed from 'protest' into an armed insurrection.
Airports were closed, touristic attractions were closed, dozens of tourists left stranded.
President Dina Boluarte pleaded for "a national truce" and lamented the dozens of deaths resulting from the mayhem. His plea fell on deaf ears.
ARGENTINA
In many ways the Kirchners are like feudal lords of the pampas. It's like this family is the Bushes and the Clintons rolled into one.
Nestor Kirchner was president from 2004 to 2007. His first lady Christina succeeded him, with two mandates, from 2007 until 2015. And, while her terms were riddled with corruption scandals, here we have her again - as Vice-President for Alberto Fernandez, since 2019.
If you think it's bad that [they] overturned Brazilian Lula's convictions, whisked him out of jail directly to the presidency, just imagine that Argentina's VP has been convicted of corruption while in office last December.
There's no talk of her resigning - oh, no - socialists never have any shame for their crimes. She will appeal the conviction and that process will take years to unfold. Meanwhile, she is another convict-in-office in a shambolic administration that led Argentina to a 94% inflation rate in 2022.
As Argentina becomes a China satellite, the possibility of a new Falklands war against the United Kingdom is increasing, as I've written about in my February 2022's article A New War in the Falklands?
'There you have it. We always knew that the ever-growing Chinese influence in the South American subcontinent was not going to come free. Since Argentina decided to become a full-fledged satellite to China, it was just a matter of time before the superpower decided to support the by-now ridiculous claim from Argentina over the Falkland Islands.'
The increased geopolitical presence of China is going to the maximum as they prepare to establish a naval base at the southernmost tip of the American continent, in the Tierra del Fuego.
Now, many Americans may think this is a foreign problem of no importance to them, until of course you think about what lies a few degrees to the south of Tierra del Fuego: THE ANTARCTIC CONTINENT. To surrender this most strategic advantage point to China is quite the recipe for disaster.
It's high time for American foreign policy to start paying serious attention to the proverbial 'backyard', lest they find out too late that they are surrounded by deadly enemies.
Wow! This eye-opening article covers a scary scenario for the western hemisphere. I don’t know what is actually happening in Antarctica, but to have the primary foreign threat to the west such a short distance away is unsettling. It is unknown what the real roles of the leaders in SA are; we don’t know what is actual events or false flags and we don’t know what is happening below the fascist ideology of the public’s perception. That’s a lot of unknowns in this area and increasing knowledge is of primary importance. Thank you for opening the door to this!
How is the Antarctic a strategic advantage point?
